【Vehicle Error Diagnosis | OBD Checks Before and After Installing Electrical Components】
When installing electrical accessories such as a car audio system or a car security system, many people probably worry about whether the vehicle has any errors. At LOGON, we check the vehicle’s condition using an onboard diagnostic device before installing the electrical components and again after the work is completed.
If errors are already confirmed when the vehicle arrives, we inform the customer before starting the work. By separating and checking the vehicle’s original condition and its condition after the installation, we ensure that later there is no situation where it’s unclear, “When did this error start?”
In recent years, vehicles have become increasingly electronically controlled, and more vehicles are now using OBD during inspections to check for trouble conditions. The OBD inspection that began in October 2024 also varies in handling depending on the target vehicle and the type of fault, so having an error does not automatically mean the vehicle will fail the inspection. However, if a warning light is illuminated or an abnormality is confirmed during a vehicle diagnostic, it is important not to leave it as-is and to check it once.
During the installation, we proceed with the work after confirming the vehicle’s condition, and we check the diagnostic results again after the work is finished. Since we also report the diagnostic results after the work to the customer, please feel free to consult us if you have any concerns about installing electrical components or if you would like to check whether there are currently any errors.
Although the items we can confirm differ depending on the vehicle’s condition and the installation content, if it were me, I would first look at the vehicle’s condition before installing any electrical components. We don’t just handle the installation—we support you by including checks of the vehicle’s condition before and after the work, so you can continue using your important car with peace of mind.
