However, simply going with 3WAY won’t guarantee good results in every car. Depending on the factory audio specifications, the size of the cabin, how you choose the speakers, the installation method, and how you typically listen, the configuration that suits you will vary.

If it were me, I wouldn’t decide the configuration first on its own—I’d confirm the actual car and your sound preferences, and then judge whether 2WAY+R or 3WAY is the better fit.
