【Air Conditioner Refrigerant Maintenance to Improve Cooling Performance | R134a / R1234yf Compatible】
While using your air conditioner, have you ever felt that “it doesn’t cool as well as before,” “it takes longer to cool down,” or “the air blows, but the cabin doesn’t get cool quickly”?
Car air conditioners may experience reduced cooling performance because the refrigerant gas gradually decreases, or because the system is affected by moisture and impurities contained in the gas.
That’s where air conditioner refrigerant maintenance using dedicated equipment comes in.
At our shop, we use Dual-spec air conditioner maintenance equipment that can handle not only the conventional R134a, but also R1234yf (HFO-1234yf), which has been increasingly adopted in newer vehicles in recent years.
The refrigerant used varies by vehicle, but you can’t tell just by appearance. Even with brand-new cars, there are cases where you weren’t given a detailed explanation of the refrigerant type at the time of purchase.
Therefore, we first confirm the vehicle specifications, then perform the work according to the refrigerant being used.
This equipment includes a function to remove impurities inside the recovered refrigerant gas with high precision.
We recover the gas once, restore the internal condition, and then charge the required amount of refrigerant and oil. Maintenance is not just about topping up the gas—we check the condition of the entire air-conditioning system as we perform the work.
Since R1234yf is a more expensive refrigerant than R134a, it’s an important point that we can work accurately for your specific vehicle without using more gas than necessary.
The equipment uses an analog meter, but the internal control is digital. It is designed to switch appropriately between R134a and R1234yf and manage the system so that different refrigerants do not mix.
Poor air-conditioner performance isn’t always caused by the condition of the refrigerant gas alone. If the cause is a refrigerant leak, the compressor, sensors, or other components, symptoms may not improve even after maintenance.
At our shop, we determine whether the problem can be addressed through air conditioner refrigerant maintenance by checking the condition before and after the work. As a rule, we don’t push ahead with unnecessary procedures—we provide guidance based on the vehicle’s condition.
Car air conditioning is used not only during hot seasons, but also in safety-related situations such as defogging the front windshield. If you feel even slightly uncomfortable about how it cools, please consult us before the symptoms get worse.
Even if you don’t know the vehicle model or the refrigerant type, we’ll guide you while confirming what’s needed. Let’s take a look at your air conditioner together so you can stay comfortable in your important car.
