For those who want to take their car audio sound a step deeper and rethink it. ZR Extravagance DREAM-1 -brushed- is a large-diameter mid-bass driver in a 20cm class.

Designed to be easy to incorporate into systems that prioritize the body of vocals and instruments, the way sound starts and comes to life, and natural expressiveness that carries from the low end into the midrange, this model is for anyone who wants to dramatically change sound quality by swapping speakers. If you often feel that the factory speakers fall short, that the sound comes across thin, or that you want to enjoy your usual music more realistically—by revisiting the speaker size and the diaphragm structure, it’s possible for the way music is heard inside the cabin to change.

The newly developed diaphragm with a large-diameter center cap uses woven Kevlar fiber coated with a special paint containing mineral components from natural minerals. In addition, it features an original frame structure that bonds the specialized material “Stabilit” and aluminum using twelve 24K-plated brass shafts. Through a structure designed to suppress unwanted resonances and a design that emphasizes musicality, this mid-bass aims for a distinctive resonance unlike that of typical speakers.

The magnetic circuit is equipped with a 35mm-diameter voice coil and eight neo-dium magnets. It’s important not only to consider the appearance specs, but also how—when installed in the car—this unit connects with the front speakers, tweeters, and subwoofers.

For 20cm-class speakers, installation must be carried out while confirming factors such as the vehicle-side mounting space, door structure, baffle fabrication, and interference with the inner trim. Even with the same speaker, the final impression can vary depending on the mounting method, how the door side is treated, the combination with an amplifier and DSP, and the final sound tuning.
