The Zapco Z-400.4Ⅱ is what we recommend if you want to further refine your car audio sound. Building on the concept of the Z-LX series, it uses SanKen’s TO-3P power transistors—well regarded for sound quality—connected in a parallel push-pull configuration.

The input section also uses dedicated audio parts for the op-amp and coupling capacitors. The design aims for a natural, transparent sound that’s easy to listen to, while preserving the sound’s information content. It’s also equipped with high-pass/low-pass filters and a bass boost circuit.
