Positioned between the top-grade RS Master and RS Revelation series, this is a high-end model: a 2-way component speaker system combining a 16.5cm woofer and tweeter.

Mid-Low Frequencies with Both Precision and Power

The woofer uses an ultra-lightweight, high-rigidity carbon fiber cone.

Designed to suppress unnecessary cone breakup modes while shaping both the sound’s attack and the presentation of mid-low frequencies. It’s well-suited for listeners who want to carefully pick out every individual sound that makes up the music—such as vocal body/thickness, the three-dimensionality of guitars and pianos, and the punchy attack of drums.

The woofer basket also features a newly designed die-cast aluminum basket. As a solid base to support the speaker, it is structured with the goal of reducing unwanted resonances.

Tweeter with a Juralumin Housing

The tweeter employs a magnetic circuit equipped with a juralumin housing and a powerful neodymium magnet.

It makes it easier to extract fine details in the high frequencies, so you can listen with intention even to sounds that are easier to miss with factory speakers—such as the breathiness of vocals and the lingering decay of cymbals. This speaker is made for those who don’t just want louder treble, but want a natural presence throughout the entire music.

Passive Network Using Mundorf Components

The included passive crossover network uses high-performance coils and capacitors made by German company Mundorf.

It’s a crucial part of the design that divides the frequency bands handled by the woofer and tweeter, and is engineered so each unit can perform at its best. Not only the speaker itself, but also the way these networks are included to shape the sound—this is also one of the charms of the Stream 165-2.

Your Results Change with Installation and Tuning

Speakers in this class are not something you simply swap in and call it done.

Depending on the condition of the door, the mounting base, how the speaker is fixed, the relationship with the door panel/trim, the tweeter’s orientation, and more, the way the same product sounds can vary. Especially to take advantage of the carbon fiber cone’s performance, it’s important to firmly support the speaker and prepare the door area as an environment for sound output.
