【Morel ELATE CARBON MW6|6.5-inch Mid-Woofer that Brings Out Musical Thickness and Speed】
I want to replace the factory speakers to significantly improve the amount of musical information and the thickness of the vocals. Not only do I want more bass, but I also want improvements in how instruments start (their attack) and in the overall cohesiveness of the music.
That’s the kind of upgrade you can consider with the ELATE CARBON MW6, part of Morel’s high-end series.
The ELATE CARBON MW6 is a 6.5-inch mid-woofer.
With a sandwich cone combining a three-layer carbon fiber structure and Rohacell®, it strikes a balance between lightness and rigidity, and the ability to suppress unwanted vibrations.
When listening to music, you’ll find it easier to perceive not just the amount of bass and kick, but also the attack of the sound and the sustain/decay. Since the mid-low range that supports the vocals also gains thickness, it may help address concerns such as the sound feeling thin, bass sounding blurred, or getting tired when you turn the volume up.
It also uses a large 3-inch Hexatech™ aluminum voice coil and an EVC™ motor structure. This unit is designed to deliver powerful reproduction while carefully expressing the subtle changes within the music.
Speakers in this class can’t fully demonstrate their performance just by swapping the unit.
How the sound comes out varies depending on vehicle-side conditions such as door rigidity, how the baffle is made, treatment of the area behind the speaker, interference with the door trim, and how it combines with the existing system. You may also need to decide whether to mount it with an inner baffle only, or finish it including an outer baffle—depending on the vehicle model and intended use.
To take full advantage of the ELATE CARBON MW6, it’s important to consider the installation method and the balance of the entire system.
If I were doing it, I wouldn’t decide based on the speaker alone. I would confirm the presence of your current head unit and amplifier, as well as the tweeters and subwoofer, before deciding on the overall configuration. Even if you’re only upgrading the front speakers, adjusting the volume and the connection of the bass range as well will generally make you more satisfied after the upgrade.
Depending on the vehicle model and system, another speaker or installation approach may be a better fit. Even if you choose an expensive unit, you won’t necessarily get the same result in every car.
At LOGON, we work together to consider a reasonable configuration while confirming how you use your car, what music you usually listen to, your current system, and the direction of sound you want to achieve. There are also parts where we guide you after seeing your actual vehicle, including the installation space and whether machining is necessary.
If you want to increase musical thickness and expressiveness properly, I think this is a speaker that lets you enjoy how familiar songs will change. First, please tell us about your current audio concerns.
