A pocket-integrated outer baffle that brings sound and form to the door.
【Outer Baffle Fabrication Pocket-Integrated Type|W-Speaker Plywood Specification】
With the factory door panel, there are limitations on speaker size and depth, which can make it difficult to achieve the desired sound thickness and impact.
That’s why this pocket-integrated outer baffle was created: the speaker mounting position is redesigned to fit the available space in the door, and the midrange and subwoofer are laid out in a cohesive, unified form.
An outer baffle is not just a component used to show off the speakers.
It places the speakers forward of the factory position and builds a solid base that allows secure mounting while avoiding interference with the door trim and surrounding parts. By increasing the rigidity of the mounting surface, it becomes easier to absorb the energy when the speaker moves, resulting in positive effects on midrange clarity and low-frequency cohesion.
In a setup like this—where the midrange and subwoofer are placed separately—it's also important to consider the positional relationship between the units and the processing on the door side. Rather than simply installing larger speakers, we finish it while taking into account how the sounds connect and how it will be heard inside the cabin.
The silver-panel molding gives the added equipment a strong presence in the cabin while also being a design that blends well with the overall look around the doors.
The configuration combines a carbon-fiber-styled unit for the midrange and a Kicker Comp subwoofer for the low end. If you want to clearly feel the push of vocals and instruments, or you want to enjoy live recordings and rock tracks with power, this is a well-matched direction.
The appeal of this kind of system is that it makes it easier to feel the presence of the mid-to-low frequencies and the sound’s thickness—not only the impact when you turn the volume up, but also at the volume level you normally listen to.
Outer baffles vary in installation position, fixing method, trim (inner panel) processing, and door-side handling depending on the vehicle model, door shape, and the speakers used.
Therefore, installing the product does not guarantee the same sound. It’s necessary to decide the final shape to suit the vehicle, while checking everything from the speaker orientation and interference with the door, to how it sits visually, and even how convenient it is for getting in/out and using the pocket.
At LOGON, after hearing about your desired sound direction and how you plan to use it, we work together to organize where the level of work should go to increase customer satisfaction. Rather than deciding only the outer baffle first, we propose a realistic configuration that includes the speakers, amplifier, deadening (soundproofing), and tuning/adjustment.
“From the factory speakers, I want to get more sound thickness.”
“I want to install a large speaker in the door.”
“I want a car audio setup that also pays attention to the appearance.”
If you have wishes like these, let’s consider a realistic finish together while confirming your vehicle model and your current system.
